The Season of Fall, Pie and Pumpkins!

Cooler temps have FINALLY arrived here in Texas, along with our goodies for Fall and Christmas!  Our center table is set with Fall and Thanksgiving pie making in mind.

Two of my new favorite things in the store are this wonderful book, "What Katie Ate".  Gorgeous photography, great typography and just good recipes, make this a book you will turn to again and again.  I love it.  And to make your pie...Pie Birds!  And this great vintage look pie sign, is my other favorite goodie.  Great for a that cute bit of vintage in any kitchen.

The front counter is awash in black, orange and glitter.  Cute decor, cookies and fun things for Halloween.  And speaking of pie, our Spicy Pumpkin Pie Candles are going fast!

Cookies!  Witches Hats, Pumpkins and wee little ghosts!  The perfect treat to go with your coffee.  

Straws are always fun for a Halloween party!

In the front of our store, we have a wonderful rolling wagon that we have filled to the brim with pumpkins, mum's, leaves and burlap.  

Ladies Night this month was a great bit of fun as several local authors joined us for a evening of refreshments and book talk.  

Ladies Night is every second Saturday of the month, with late night shopping from 5 pm to 8 pm.  With over 20 stores and all restaurants in the Downtown area participating, this is a great evening to stroll, shop and enjoy the downtown area.  

Other events this month include the Bob Phillips Festival on 10/26 and Trick or Treat on the Square on 10/31.  For more events in the downtown area, click here.

Jardin Time

LOVE this Herb sign.  Perfect for a garden or sun room!

Hats, hooks, candles, lotions, chalk boards are more are in stock in our cute garden area of the store.

Even if you don't have a green thumb, you can, "fake it" till you make it!

And of course, no shortage of nests, eggs or birdies here.  

Barr is a wonderful line that has a nice clean scent, great for men or women.  And perfect for "garden hands" that need a little TLC after some hard yard work.

Chalk boards are so popular right.  Just the right size to remind you of where the potting soil is.

Here in Texas, our "winter" often includes some 70 degree (or more) days.  Which often makes me think of puttering in the garden.  Here in the shop, we've got some wonderful things for YOUR garden or just cute Garden decor for your home.  Or as the French say, "jardin".

No Stupid Cupid Here!

 Hearts and cupid.  Love and chocolates.  And we've got em all at The Dove's Nest.

 We don't think Cupid is stupid.  We rather like this cheeky, little fellow.

 Our candles make any meal romantic.  And smell great too!  This is Vanilla Cigar, a wonderful scent that reminds me of a lovely pipe tobacco.

 Love Notes that are fun to tuck into a lunch bag or leave on a mirror.

And of course, chocolates.  All hand made by the gals at La Bouchee'.  And Cake Balls.  Perfect little bites of wonderfulness.  Perfect for Valentines Day.
